What are the values of Nutrition in your life?

 Nutrition

It is the process by which in organism uses nutrients rich food to maintain and to support it's life. Nutrients provide energy and helps in maintaining healthy body. Consumption of insufficient nutritional diet can causes malnutrition problem. Nutrition plays an crucial role in the growth of mind and body.

We can full fill our nutrition requirement by two types of nutrients.

1) Macronutrients

2) Micronutrients

Macronutrients

Nutrition which consist of major part of your diet is known as macronutrients.

It only include Carbohydrates, Proteins and Fats as macronutrients. The main function of macronutrients are to provide energy, maintain growth and repairing of tissues and cell in the body.

A) Carbohydrates: It is the most important nutritional component of the food that helps us to provide energy. Carbohydrates are the sugar molecules which provide you sufficient amount of energy by breaking down carbohydrates into glucose or blood sugar.

Sources: Starch, rice, wheat, pulses, soyabean, potatoes, honey etc.

B) Protein: Protein are found throughout your body. They are complex and large molecules that plays many critical roles in the body. The molecules of protein made up of amino acids. They are needed for the proper functioning of the body. They do most of the work in the cells. Protein present in muscles, bones, skin, hair and at all the parts of the body.

 i) Animal Protein: Milk, Curd, Paneer, egg etc.

ii) Vegetable Protein: Soyabean, cereals, nuts, flaxseeds, pulses, seeds etc.

C) Fats: Fat is the compound which is present in food and it protects your organ from any injury. It's composition consist of carbon hydrogen and oxygen in ratio 76:12:12. It also provide you heat and energy. One gram of Fat contains a calorie. Fat helps your body in absorption of Vitamin A, vitamin D and vitamin E because, these vitamins are fat soluble which means that only in the presence of fat these vitamin can absorbed in the body.

i) Animal Sources: Ghee, butter, curd, panner etc.

ii) Vegetable Sources: Coconut, soyabean, cereals etc.

Micronutrients

Micronutrients are consists of Vitamin and minerals, which your body needs in very small amounts but, if any deficiency occurs in your body due to inadequate intake of micronutrients then, you have to face critical health problems and the problems can causes even life threatening conditions.

A) Minerals: Minerals are essential compound in your food, Minerals consists 4% of your total body parts. Minerals not only provide you energy but also keep teeth healthy and place an important role in making your body fit and fine. It also helps in making of muscles and bones the main minerals which your body needs are-Iron, sodium, calcium, chlorine, potassium etc.

Sources: i) Milk and milk products for Calcium, Phosphorus, Sodium.

ii) Egg and nuts for Iron and Sulphur.

iii) Bananas and apple for Pottasium.

iv) Iodised salt for the requirement of Iodine. 

B) Vitamins: Vitamins is an essential micronutrients which is required for your physical development and proper functioning of the body.

 Lack of these vitamins can causes various diseases like- lack of vitamin A cause is night blindness, lack of Vitamin B1 cause is bery-bery, lack of vitamin B2 cause is bad skin, lack of vitamin B12 causes anaemia, lack of vitamin C causes scurvy, lack of vitamin D causes rickets, lack of vitamin E causes infertility and lack of vitamin K causes excessive bleeding due to injury.

Sources: i) Milk and milk products for Vitamin A, Vitamin D, Vitamin B2, Vitamin B3, Vitamin B5, Vitamin B6, Vitamin B7, Vitamin B12.

ii) Dark green leafy vegetables, peanuts for Vitamin B9. 

ii) Sprouts seeds, green leafy vegetables, and cauliflower is very good for Vitamin E, Vitamin K, Vitamin B1.

iv) Fresh fruits, leamon and Amla is best source for Vitamin C.

Value of nutrition in your life

Nutrition is most important part of Health and development. Nutrition promotes stronger immune system, safer pregnancy, safer childbirth, low risk for Lifestyle diseases. Nutrition also plays a vital role in proper functioning of your body. To live longer, to live healthy, to get normal growth, to maintain healthy body weight, to reduce the risk of chronic diseases, nutrition plays most important role in these areas.

 So, the conclusion is that, you should take more and more healthy nutritious rich diet, to always stay happy and healthy.
