Cancer is one of the deadliest disease worldwide, with an average 14 million new cases and about 1 million cases diagnosed in India. The cases of Cancer has an sudden increase in past decades. The wide spread presence of Cancer is expected to rise by 7 to 9% in the next 5 to 6 years.

Regular protection, early detection and improved treatments have increased the survival chance of patient from 61% to 77% in the past decades.

Role of Yoga in Cancer

Yoga is exercise for mind and body. The purpose of yoga is to improve strength, flexibility and breathing through series of poster and movement. Yoga creates balance between spirit,body and mind to help feel relaxed and calm.

The reason for the patients who were suffering from cancer use yoga because it makes them feel good, calm and relaxed. Normally yoga can help to lift up the mood and boost up the well being.

The main thing is yoga can cure your cancer. Specially, Pranayam in Yoga can cure and save you from cancer.

Pranayam like Anuloma-Vilom, Bhastrika, Kapalbhati, Ujjayi etc.

1. Anuloma-Vilom: Anulom-Vilom is one of the core breathing exercise in yoga, and it is also known as Alternate Nostril Breathing exercise. It is a basic trick and technique can greatly enhance your quality of life by calming your mind and curing your diseases.

 For practicing Anulom-Vilom Pranayam you must hold one nostril closed while you inhale and then hold the other nostril close while you exhale the same process should repeat with the reverse nostril. This pranayam is having several physical and psychological benefits.

The term 'kapalbhati' is derived from Sanskrit 'kapal' meaning 'Skull' and 'Bhati' meaning 'To shine'. Kapalbhati Pranayam increases oxygen supply in the body which helps in clarity of mind and improve focus level of the person. This asana is a balancing asana. It helps in improving the balance of both physical and mental well being. This asana helps in strengthening of muscles.

4. Setu-bandhasana: The word Setu-bandhasana is derived from the Sanskrit where, the word 'Setu' means 'Bridge' 'Bandha' means 'lock' and 'Asana' means 'Posture'. In English this asana is called Bridge pose, Bridge lock pose or Shoulder Supported Bridge pose. When a person perform this asana his/her body look like a bridge so, that's why, this asana is called Setu-bandhasana. The body parts where you can see this asana may effects are spine, glutes, hamstrings and hip flexors. It also involves other body parts like core, chest and quadri-seps muscles.

Benefits of Setu-bandhasana

• This asana stretches chest, neck, spine and hips region.
