 As we all know that, the benefits of yoga are endless. So, today I'll tell you about which yoga asanas will prevent or cure your lifestyle diseases.

Obesity

Obesity can be defined as a condition, where the body weight and fat is increased above the desired level. In this condition the number and size of the fat cells increases in obese people. A person is obese, when his/her body weight is 20% or above the ideal body weight.

The Obesity is generally classified into 2 type:

1) Hyperplasia Obesity: A person, having more than normal number of fat cells, is considered as hyperplasia obese.

2) Hypertrophy Obesity: A person having more than normal size of these fat cells, is considered as hypertrophy obese.

There are various factors for obesity like overeating, thyroid, heredity, no physical activity etc.

Obesity causes many diseases like headache, paralysis, constipation, joint pain, acidity, spinal problems, respiratory problems.


Causes of Obesity

1) Lifestyle: Now-a-days everyones tends to live a luxurious and comfortable life. The individual does not indulge in physical exercises, prefers eating packaged food, taking medicines instead of balance diet, being in mental stress. 

2) Heredity: Obesity runs through genes from parents to kids.

3) Metabolism Rate: Person having low metabolism rate tends to have accumulation of more fat in body.

4) Less Physical Activity: Sedentary lifestyle tends to loose out calories in very less amount which causes more body fat in body.

Symptoms of Obesity

1. Having a short breath.

2. Increase in body weight.

3. Pain in joints and bones.

4. Less moisture in skin. 

Prevention Asanas of Obesity

For the prevention of Obesity, one must do the regular practice of Vajrasana, Hastasana, Trikonasana and Ardhmatsyendrasana.

1) Vajrasana: Vajrasana is a position of sitting with legs extended together.  Performing vajrasana helps our digestive system in many ways. It obstructs blood flow to our legs and thighs and increases it in our stomach area, thus improving our bowel movements and relieving constipation. Vajrasana also helps us to get rid of flatulence (gas) and acidity. 

Benefits of Vajrasana

1) It helps in smooth functioning of your digestive system.

2) It helps in loosing body weight.

3) It keep spine straight and prevent back ache. 

4) It strengthen the muscles of thigh and calf. 

2) Hastasana: Hastasana (hast+asana) which is made of two words. Hastasana means arms, stretched and posture. In this posture, the arms are upwards, so it is called Hastasana.Unlike other asanas, this pose does not require empty bowels during practice.

Benefits of Hastasana

1) This asana provide relaxation to your body. 

2) This asana helps children to increase height. 

3) It helps in reducing obesity. 

4) It improves efficiency of heart and kidneys.


3) Trikonasana: Trikonasana is asana which shows the shape of triangle. Tri means three, Kona means angles. That's why it is called Trikonasana. The foundational posture is named for the triangle shape your body makes as you bring your bottom hand to the floor and keep your feet grounded during the move. 

Benefits of Trikonasana

1) It improves flexibility of spine. 

2) It helps in relieving pain in neck and back. 

3) It reduces obesity. 

4) It helps to increase height of growing children.

4) Ardhmatsyendrasana: The word “Ardhamatsyendrasana” has been derived from Sanskrit and it translates as “Half Lord of the Fishes Pose”. The Ardhamatsyendrasana Yoga is a seated twist asana that is practiced to improve body posture and restore the digestive system.

Benefits of Ardhamatsyendrasana

1) It looses extra fat and makes your body beautiful and strong. 

2) It heals back pain, stress, headache.

3) It helps in reducing body weight. 

4) It is beneficial for small and large intestine.
