Hypertension
It is the most common disease in world in recent times. In morden world fast life, environment and industrialization creates a lot of psychological stress. Stress and tension increase adrenaline in blood circulation which increases blood pressure. Blood pressure is force of your blood pushing against walls of your arteries. Each time your heart beats, it pump blood. It is called systolic pressure. When heart is at rest between beats, blood pressure falls. It is called diastolic number. A reading of 119/79 or lower in normal blood pressure and 140/90 or higher in high blood pressure. High blood pressure usually has no symptoms but it can cause serious problems such as stroke, heart failure and kidney failure. The arteries and nerves become disrupted and became hard.
Symptoms of Hypertension
1) Fainting.
2) Pain in Hand, leg and shoulder.
3) Tiredness and lack of sleep.
4) Neck pain in morning.
Causes of Hypertension
The main cause for high blood pressure is stress and wrong lifestyle. In addition, smoking, tea, coffee, oily food etc. are the main causes of high blood pressure. These substances are disturb our natural process.Obesity, diabetes, constipation and heredity are also causes Hypertension.
Role of Asanas for Prevention and Control of Hypertension
Tadasana: Tadasana relaxes your body and mind, which helps to create a calm sense of inner peace. Maintaining alignment and body awareness is a constant process. Standing strong, steady, and centered in this Pose helps to improve posture, alignment, and balance. This can benefit other yoga poses as well as your daily movements. It is called tadasana because the body shapes looks like a tree and becomes strong like palm tree.

3. Ardhchakrasna: “Ardha Chakrasana, also known as half wheel pose. It is an intermediate asana that helps to prepare the body and mind for deeper back bending and heart-opening postures. The name of this asana has been derived from Sanskrit, where Ardha means ‘half’ and Chakra means ‘wheel’. This asana is perfect to cure respiratory disorders, back pain, menstrual pains, and shoulder and neck jerks.”

4. Shavasana: This pose resembles the posture of a dead body and therefore named after it. Shava means corpse. It also called as corpse pose. It is an asana in hatha yoga and modern yoga as exercise, often used for relaxation at the end of a session. It is the usual pose for the practice of yoga nidra meditation, and is an important pose in Restorative Yoga.

Other Precautions for Hypertension
1) Eating habits: Balance diet play an important role like:
(A) Calcium and potassium are essential elements which helps to excrete extra sodium. In deficiency of calcium, we shall have green vegetables and fruits butter milk etc.
(B) Animal protein sources like- meat, fish, increase blood pressure. So it shall be taken in less quantity.
(C) For avoiding constipation and other excretory products, water plays an important role so patient shall have enough fluid intake in the body.
(D) High blood pressure is a ultimate result of mental stress. For getting energy, carbon like oats, cereals, porridge, shall be in meals.
(E) Patient suffering from high B.P shall reduced salt intake in meals because it increases quantity of sodium level in body.
2) Maintaining ideal body weight is must to keep blood pressure in check.
3) Stay away from smoking, alcohol and drugs.
4) Sedantrey lifestyle shall be avoided. Rather achive lifestyle shall be adopted.
5) Even if blood pressure is or exceed than 140/90 mn/hg then consult doctor and have proper medicines as prescribed by him.
6) Exercise like- dhyan, walk, yoga, dance be done to control blood pressure.
